Haven't had any recent inspiration, but I was going through some of my older stuff, and this has always been one of my favorite poems, so I wanted to share.

Pacified By Winter

Mood thick and red
Indian clay in my hands
Shape and form into something
Special.

Kiss like the wind
Whisper through my skin
Listen to it breathe, listen to it
Meditate.

Voice of silent hunger
Secrets tearing through me
Watching, waiting...
Preparing for the inevitable.

Knowledge of your absence
Shiver like an earthquake
Locked up inside of you
Pacified by Winter.

Quick flash your spark
Slow in my dreams
Reality beckons, I wave it
Away.

Stand, cold, uncertain
Silent and solemn and strong
Just the right moment to say
Goodbye.

But locked jaw,
Lips warm smooth steel
Can't let you know, but I
Can't let you go.

Knowledge of your absence
Shiver like an earthquake
Locked up inside of you
Pacified by Winter.
